This depends to a large extent on how the disciplinary proceedings develop. Sometimes the defendant is prepared to confess to the offense and seeks to make a deal in which the prosecutor usually agrees to a reduced punishment. (Details of the penalties can be found in the various disciplinary regulations). If the parties are willing to reach a plea bargain, you will, of course, be invited to express your opinion, which will be taken into account before the deal is finalized.
